Two Perry High School groups are being recognized by the Iowa High School Speech Association.
Janet Ortiz, Mariah McNamara, Alicia Calderon, Brooke Huntington and Sarah Sweet recently received a superior rating at the Large Group All-State speech contest. The quintet earned the high marks in the Reader’s Theatre category.
Additionally, Sidney Vancil and Skylar Cunningham have also received superior All-State ratings for their short film “Trapped” about bullying.
The students are directed by Wendy Holhoefer and Cathy Petersen.
