The Greene County Cattlemen Association’s annual banquet is this weekend.
It will be on Saturday, February 20th at Clover Hall on the fairgrounds in Jefferson. The evening starts with a social hour at 6pm, followed by a catered prime rib meal from Lidderdale Country Store at 6:30pm. A trophy auction will wrap up the event. President Pat Fields says people can still donate items for their silent auction, along with items designated for their scholarship program.
“That money is specifically going just for the scholarship program of what the Greene County Cattlemen do. They can donate, ok this wall hanging (or) this fruit basket, whatever it is, this money is specifically to go to the scholarship program and we really encourage that.”
Other proceeds go toward beef promotion and grilling events for the local chapter. Last year, the fundraiser brought in $17,700.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased from any board member or at the door.
Board members include Fields, Mike Holden, Steve Kennedy, Doug Lawton, Dave Tipton, Tom Lawton, Justin Robbins, Mike Ostendorf, Roger Rowles, Mike Towers, Tanner Lawton and Tom Heun.
