The Adel City Council will meet in regular session tonight.

Items on the agenda include public hearings in regards to the fiscal year 2017 budget and voluntary annexation for Gary L. Koopman.  Police officer Natalie Gillett will then take her oath of office, the Council will consider allowing a food truck owner to use a parking space downtown, and discuss an annexation request from Tim and Jody Forret.

The budget is then expected to be approved, followed by approval of the 2016 strategic planning review and goal setting session summary report, a resolution delaying the transfer of funds for the purchase of flood mitigation and approval of a request for proposals for garbage and recycling servies.

A special event permit for the sweet corn 5K will then be considered, as will a revised flowers and sustenance supplies policy and live trap policy.

The Council will then discuss an updated special event permit application, consider approving a preliminary plat for Timberview plat 4 and consider a contract with the Region XII council of governments.

The meeting takes place at City Hall starting at 6pm.
