The months-long process of preparing the fiscal year 2017 budget will come to a head this morning when the Guthrie County Board of Supervisors will vote to approve the budget.
Prior to the vote, a public hearing will take place which gives the Board, department heads and residents one last chance to comment on the budget, which will serve as the County’s primary financial plan for one year, beginning July 1st.
If approved as presented, the budget would decrease levies by about .35% per $1,000 of valuation for urban property owners and about .23% for rural property owners. This equates to $3.37 less in property taxes for an urban home valued at $200,000.
The meeting begins at 10 a.m. inside of the Guthrie County Courthouse.
