The Greene County High School track and field squads are preparing for the start of the outdoor season on March 28 in Jefferson at Linduska Field. The Rams will be hosting the non-scored Greene County Early Bird Meet, but even though the season is just getting underway, the Ram athletes may be a little rusty. For the first time in decades, perhaps ever, a full Spring Break is being taken with no classes in the Greene County schools this whole week.

Some practice sessions have been scheduled for those not on the Spanish trip to Dominican Republic or vacations of another type, but by and large when March 28 gets here, a certain percentage of the Rams will have gone more than a week without practice and they’ll go right into competition. Some of the Greene County girls and boys took part in the ISU High School Classic meets indoors in Ames last week, but March 28 will be the first competition of the season for others.
