The 2016 Greene County High School girls’ golf team isn’t loaded with experienced golfers, but Coach Heath Telleen returns more experience than a season ago. Last year was Telleen’s first as the girls’ golf coach of the Rams and there was little in the way of high school golf experience. The coach talked to Raccoon Valley Radio about this year’s team. “We were able to get 11 girls out. We lost a few this year. It’s hard when they get to be seniors with jobs and they’re going off to college and all, but we have six back from last year.”

Sophomore Rachel Danielson was the low scorer on the team in 2015 and is back and appears to be recovered from off-season knee surgery. Coach Telleen was asked to describe Danielson’s golf game. “She’s really consistent. She hits the ball quite far, but she’s getting better and better around the greens, which is really going to help her.”

The Rams open the girls’ golf season on Monday, April 4 in Carroll vs. the Carroll High Tigers.
