The population of two of our local counties continue to drop.
According to information released Thursday by the United States Census Bureau, the population of Guthrie County fell from an estimated 10,722 on July 1st, 2014 to 10,676 on July 1st, 2015. That represents a 2.5% drop in population from the 2010 Census figure of 10,954.
The Bureau estimates the population of Adair County also fell from 7,454 on July 1st, 2014 to 7,228 on July 1st, 2015. That represents a 5.9% loss in population since the 2010 Census count of 7,682.
