Guthrie County Extension 4-H will be holding two workshops later this month at their offices located at 212 State Street in Guthrie Center.

If you’re new or fairly new to sewing, you’ll want to attend the Sewing Workshop being held Tuesday December 27 starting at 1:00 P.M.  Here you’ll cut out and sew an apron.  You can make it for yourself or for someone else.  Guthrie County Extension 4-H Youth Coordinator Carolyn Wilson asks that all participants bring the following supplies with them:  1-1/8 yard fabric, which could be broadcloth, chambray, lightweight denim, gingham or poplin.  You will also need scissors, straight pins, fabric marking pencil, measuring tape and a seam ripper.  You are welcome to bring your own machine, but we have several Wilson added.  Class size is limited and Wilson encourages those interested to register early.  Wilson asks adult helpers to let them know if they are available to help out, as they are always welcome.

Would you like to learn the art of bread making?  This workshop will be held on Monday, December 31 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.  Participants will learn a life skill they can use to create a fair exhibit or just impress your family.  While attending you will be provided with all the materials needed to make a loaf of bread to take home and bake yourself.  Class size is limited and Wilson encourages those interested to register early.

For further information, or to register for either of these workshops, call 641-747-2276 or send an email to cjwilson@iastate.edu
