The Perry Girls Softball Association is gearing for a busy weekend June 4th and 5th in Perry.  For the first time ever, the PGSA is planning on hosting a Perry alumni softball game on Sunday, June 5th.  The alumni game will be played on Paul Graves Diamond starting at 3 pm with a cookout to follow for all registered attendees and their families.

“We have been working with the Perry High School softball team and we are so excited to offer this opportunity to all former Perry softball players,” added PGSA member Tiffany Olejniczak.  “The neat part about the event is that our high school team will be playing in the Paul and Mary Ann Graves Classic on Saturday so hopefully a lot of our alumni can come back and watch those games and then enjoy their festivities on Sunday.”

The plan is to recognize and announce the alumni prior to the championship game of the Graves Classic on Saturday.  The main focus right now is on getting as many former Perry softball players back in town for the special weekend in June.

“We have started to make a target list of former players and have started to reach out to many former players.  This will be open to as far back as anyone wants to go.  I know Sherri Sheib was a shortstop on the 1974 team and Lori Seeley was a solid player before that and both have committed so we are excited to get as many people involved as possible.”

Money raised from the event will be used to update the scoreboard on Paul Graves Diamond.  Registration is 30 dollars and includes a t-shirt, family cookout and admission for alumni players to the high school tournament on Saturday, June 4th.  Contact Tina Kenney at 515-729-3531, Tiffany Olejniczak at 515-669-4414 and Andrea Menz Tunink at 515-360-3358 to sign up.
