Two more ADM athletic events took place yesterdays as the ADM Baseball team and Lady Tiger golfer Lindsey Lang were in action.

Lang started the class 4A Iowa High School Girls Athletic Union state golf tournament at the Coldwater Links golf course in Ames yesterday. The Coldwater Links course gave the entire 55 person field a run for their money yesterday as seven over par 78 earned the top score. Lindsey Lang shot a 32 over par  103 on the day as part of the first leg of the 36 hole tournament. Lang and the rest of the field will have 18 more holes to play today to wrap up the tournament.

On the dimond the ADM baseball team picked up their second win on the year in convincing fashion as they took down conference opponent Carroll in 5 innings by the final tally of 16-4. ADM earned those 16 runs courtesy of 12 RBI’s off 11 hits and 5 walks. 6 Tiger batters recorded hits on the night; 5 of those earning multiple hits on the night. ADM put up 8 runs in the first three innings to set the tone and eventually the game as they chased Carroll starting pitcher Peter Stevens out of four innings of work after giving up 12 runs. ADM put up two more runs in the fourth and 6 in the fifth to put the game out of reach.

Cody Hokel continued to find the base paths for the third straight contest going 2-5 with a double and three runs batted in on the night. Hokel was also the starting pitcher in the contest going three strong innings giving up just three runs while earning the win.

With the win the Tigers now improve to 2-1 on the season and will be back in action tonight taking on the Toreadors in Boone with first pitch slated for 7:30 pm.
