Twenty firefighters responded to a mobile home fire in Perry Memorial Day evening.

Perry Volunteer Fire Department Chief Chris Hinds tells Raccoon Valley Radio owner Edwin Adam Rivas first saw the fire through the living room window of his trailer at 2801 First Street, Lot 24.  At the time, the entire front porch of the home was on fire and the family was unable to exit out of the primary entrance.

Thankfully, Hinds says Rivas and a neighbor were able to work together and open up a back door that had been sealed in order to get the family out of the home safety.

Hinds says the cause of the fire as been ruled undetermined by local fire investigator Brian Eiteman, though it does not seem suspicious in any nature.
