It was a tough three game conference stint for the ADM Tiger baseball team going 0-3 in each of the last three Raccoon River Conference match ups.
The most recent loss came at the hands of Perry high school last night in a game that was cut short due to inclement weather. The game did manage to find its way into the 6th inning and at the time of the game call, ADM found themselves on the loosing end of a 5-3 score.
It was a very uncharacteristic game for the Tigers at the plate and on the field as ADM was charged with 5 errors on the night; 4 of them on errant throws on the infield and one charged on dropped ball off of a pop up to left. At the plate ADM couldn’t follow up their 9 hit, four run night on Thursday managing just three hits against the Perry Blue Jays. Despite the three runs crossing the plat for ADM, it was not the Tiger bats that brought runners home but a balk and two wild pitches from Blue Jay pitcher Kyle Nevitt. Nevitt overcame his 6 walk, 2 balk, and two hit batter night as he struck out 8 ADM Tigers to earn his first win on the season.
Dalton Hews continued to hit the ball well notching two of ADM’s three hits on the night. Kade Overton went 1-3 with a hit and four stolen bases on the night while also scoring off of a wild pitch from Nevitt. Jack O’Brien and Cody Hokel saw their hit streaks come to an end on the night as both were multiple strike out victims for the Blue Jays.With the loss to Tigers now fall to 2-4 on the season as they head into their Saturday tournament match up in Coon Rapids.
The Tiger softball team finished their week on Thursday as they took on the Lady Jayetts of Bondurant-Farrar. 8 ADM batters recorded a hit 6 batters recorded an RBI for the game which included a home run from Molly Jacobsen as part of her 3-4 night and a long all from Montana Popp. Lexi Wyant, Ashley Tennant, and Gabbie Clenn each drove in a run as part of a multi hit game for all three while Kila Carbine continued her streak RBI picking up two on the night. Molly Jacobsen went 7 strong innings giving up just 6 hits and no runs while striking out 17 Bondurant-Farrar batters.With the win the Lady Tigers now improve to 7-0 on the season. Up next they will head to North Fayette high school to participate in a 16 team field.
