Greene County plays Heart of Iowa Activities Conference baseball tonight in Alleman vs. North Polk. It’s the first of five games on five consecutive nights, weather permitting. Coach Mark Sawhill’s team is 1-4 overall and 1-3 in conference games, while Dave Middleton’s Comets are 2-3 overall and 1-2 in league games. Greene County swept the two-game season series from NP last season, but most of the pitching and overall experience from the 2015 season is gone.

So far in 2016, the Rams have been competitive with three games decided by one run out of the first five contests. The Rams are 1-2 in those games.

The Rams are at Perry on KDLS 1310 AM and 99.7 FM tomorrow night, then host Saydel (Des Moines) on Wednesday, host Carroll Thursday, then finish the week vs. Roland-Story (Story City) at home at Allensworth Field on KG98 on Friday night around 7:30 p.m.
