In honor of George Stout’s birthday, on Monday, October 5, the Governor’s Proclamation of George Stout Day will be read at Noon at the George Stout Public Art Piece at 111 W. Washington St. in Winterset, followed by a presentation by Winterset Mayor Phil Macumber and comments by special guests, including the family of George Stout. This event is free and open to the public.

Showings of “Stout Hearted” documentary at The Iowa Theater will be at 1:00 and 6:00 pm, and “The Monuments Men” movie will be shown at 3:00 and 8:00. Tickets to both of these events are available at the-Iowa.com website or at the door.
