It’s hard to believe we’re less than two weeks away from the longest day of the year!
The Dallas County Conservation naturalists are hosting a Summer Solstice – Stars, Stories and Sunrise event to celebrate.
All area residents are invited to gaze at the stars, share stories and view the solstice sunset and sunrise. The overnight event starts at 7pm Wednesday June 20th at the Hanging Rock Park in Redfield. Participants should bring along tents and camping gear as they join the naturalists and set up camp. The event includes a sunset viewing from Hanging Rock’s astronomical clock, a campfire with stories and s’mores, a night hike down to the river and stargazing.
Pre-registration is required for the free event and can be completed by caling the conservation office at 465-3577.
