The Lake City golf course is the site of the South Central Calhoun Cross-Country Invitational today (Tues.) and the Greene County Rams are in the field. Middle school racing begins at 4:30 p.m. with high school competition to start at 5 p.m. Greene County has shown steady improvement throughout the 2012 season on both the boys and girls teams. Sophomore Allison Higgins has led the girls from GC this season while senior Jacob Simpson, son of coach Kelly Simpson, has been the top runner for the boys. Both Higgins and Simpson have had numerous top 10 finishes this season with top five finishes not uncommon.
