The Stuart Library Foundation will kick off their first fundraising event by holding an auction at the Stuart Public Library on October 18 from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M
The Foundation’s vision of the library is that of an integral part of education, a center for community life and a catalyst for economic development. The Foundation compliments – not replaces – city and county funding of libraries, and are pleased to include the Friends of the Stuart Library and their activities.
Stuart Public Library Director Sandi Pollard says the auction is open to the public and several items are currently on display at the library. Some of the donated items to be auctioned off that night include original artwork, several theme baskets, a bistro set, membership to Pie A Month Club, a recliner, a Fancy Nancy Birthday Party, fly fishing, assorted baked goods, and a pontoon boat party for 8. A complete list of items for auction is available at the Stuart Library.
Throughout the evening, Shaw-Belden Insurance will provide hot dogs, chips and drinks and the Stuart Movie Theatre will provide popcorn.
Daugherty Auctioneering has donated their services for this fundraiser and the proceeds will help purchase Large Print Books.
