With the close of Fire Prevention Week, the Stuart Fire Department wants to remind the public that they are hosting their Annual Fire Prevention French Toast Supper and Open House this Saturday from 5:30 to 8:00 P.M. at the Stuart Fire Station.
Stuart Fire Chief Gary Fox says the department strives to provide the best service possible to the community and surrounding areas. During his first year as Fire Chief, Fox reports that they’ve responded to over 100 calls involving structure fires, car accidents, mutual aid with other departments and grass fires. The Stuart Fire Department currently has 26 dedicated firefighters that have put in over 70 plus hours of training with 5 new firefighters obtaining certification by attending 90 plus hours of classroom work.
With the public’s generous donations this year, the Fire Department was able to purchase 26 new lightweight helmets that offer our firefighters better protection while on duty Chief Fox added.
Chief Fox invites residents to at attend their French Toast Supper this Saturday and check out the new equipment that friends and loyal supporters helped provide. A free will offering will be accepted and your donations are always greatly appreciated Chief Fox added.
