Today (Nov. 8) is Media Day for the Greene County High School girls’ basketball program. The Raccoon Valley Radio microphone will be on hand as head coach Chad Morton unveils his 2012-13 squad at this afternoon’s practice. This is the first season the Rams will be playing as Greene County, the combination of students from East Greene and Jefferson-Scranton. East Greene won just two games a season ago while the Rams picked up five victories. Both of the 2011-12 squads were very young, so a number of players with varsity experience are on the team and could contribute.

The Rams open the season on Tuesday, Nov. 20 in Des Moines vs. Saydel. The Eagles are in their first season as a member of the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference.
