The annual Media Day takes places today in Jefferson for the Greene County High School boys’ basketball team. Veteran head coach Mike McGinnis has players coming together for the first time from the East Greene and Jefferson-Scranton school districts to play as Greene County. All told, there are a number of players on the team with varsity experience. Most notable are the Ostrander cousins. Reed Ostrander is a 6′ 3″ senior who averaged nearly 19 points a game last season for the Hawks. Justin Ostrander is a 6′ 8″ senior who disrupted other teams inside game last season for the Rams. Dylan Schilling, Landon Braun, Wyatt Beaman, Tory Beger, and Alex Gordon are some of the others that could be key to the Rams’ season.

Greene County opens play on Nov. 27 in Story City against Roland-Story.
