The Greene County Board of Supervisors met yesterday at the courthouse.

Greene County Sheriff Steve Haupert updated the board on the Sheriff’s Office 2012 year end numbers and statistics.  In 2012, there were 2,134 total calls with an average of 5.8 calls per day which is a slight decrease from 2,154 calls made in 2011.

Paton Public Library Director Joleen Allen requested from the board $5,000 to help pay the expenditures for the new addition to the library.  The board unanimously approved the request.

The next item discussed was the amendments to the county budget.  $411,770 was amended from the taxes, permits and licenses section of the budget.  Another major change was increasing the amount of money in funds from $3,152,096 to $3,530,780.  A public hearing date has been set for the amendments to the county budget on Tuesday, February 19th at 9am.

The board then went into its second budget workshop session and continued to look at different county departments, nonprofits and community organization’s budget requests.
