With temperatures predicted to reach 60 degrees today, high school outdoor sports teams are likely rejoicing after an early spring filled with less than ideal conditions. The ADM boys’ track and field team goes to Nevada this afternoon while Coon Rapids-Bayard hosts a coed track & field meet on Guthrie Center’s all-weather track, which includes Paton-Churdan, Glidden-Ralston, Guthrie Center, and four other schools. Woodward-Grangers hosts a coed track meet later today and the Perry teams are in that field.

Greene County begins the high school golf season today with the boys hosting Perry and Des Moines Christian at Lakeside Golf Course northwest of Grand Junction. The Perry girls host Greene County, DMC, and Ogden at the Perry Golf & Country Club north of town. The Guthrie Center girls and boys host Exira/Elk Horn-Kimballton in golf today. The ADM golf teams host Woodward-Granger at the River Valley Course north of Adel. ADM is at Alleman vs. North Polk in boys’ soccer with the varsity game starting at 5:30 p.m. while the Tigers play girls’ soccer in Adel vs. Carroll High. The Perry girls soccer teams are at home at Dewey Field vs. Carlisle while the Perry boys’ soccer teams play in Des Moines at the Cownie Soccer Park vs. Carlisle. The varsity boys play at 4:45 p.m.
