Spring means warmer weather, spring cleaning and the start of many projects.

Perry City Administrator Butch Niebuhr says crews are already out taking advantage of this week’s mild temperatures and starting projects throughout the City.

“I know the street guys are anxious to get going, they’re starting to fill pot holes, starting to get the street sweeper out.  Hopefully we’ll be taking the snow plows off pretty soon and cleaning up the streets, and doing some work” says Niebuhr.  “We’re working with Jack Butler – public works director and Josh Wuebker the assistant director, we are targeting a lot of small repairs, street cuts and stuff like that.  We are looking at getting rid of some trip hazards in the downtown area and looking at things that make our town a more walkable community.”

Niebuhr says with the many events going on this year, like the opening of the Raccoon River Valley Trail, RAGBRAI and Friday Fests, the City will continue to work to make sure everything is ready for visitors.
