Local unemployment rates continue to decrease across the Raccoon River Valley area.

According to Iowa Workforce Development, Dallas County saw a two-tenths of a point decrease in March with their 4% unemployment rate.  That’s seven-tenths lower than this time last year.

Greene County’s unemployment rate decreased three-tenths last month to 5.3% and is two-tenths lower than March of 2012.

The percentage of Guthrie County residents without a job decreased half a percentage point in March to 6.3%, which is also three-tenths lower than 2012.

Iowa’s unemployment rate decreased slightly last month to 4.9% and the U.S. unemployment rate currently sits at 7.6%.
