A Dawson man is dead and a Perry woman injured after a two vehicle accident southwest of Perry yesterday afternoon.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, 63 year-old Nelson Mobley was traveling northbound on E Avenue in a 1984 Chevy C-10 just before 2pm Monday.  A 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by 24 year-old Tiffany Hollingsworth of Perry was heading westbound on 170th Street when the front of her vehicle struck the passenger side of Mobley’s.  The C-10 went off the roadway and rolled into the northwest ditch of the intersection, coming to rest upside down.  Hollingsworth’s vehicle rotated counterclockwise and also went into the northwest ditch, coming to rest on top of Mobley’s truck
Mobley was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.  The State Patrol says Hollingsworth’s seatbelt saved her life but she was transported to Dallas County Hospital to be treated for injuries, the extent of which are not known at this time.
The accident remains under investigation.  Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
