The Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department invites individuals who want to learn how to swim to come to the Jefferson Municipal Pool this month to take lessons.
Director Vicky Lautner says there are different levels of swimmers which will have different instructions to cater to people’s swimming skills.
From level one swimmers called swabbies where people learn to just get comfortable with the water to level six admirals to allow experienced swimmers to swim longer and farther, everyone’s skill levels are covered.
Lautner states there are evening classes happening now to July 11th from 5:45-6:20pm and the second session of the daytime swimming lessons are split into two groups.
“The Jefferson residents are asked to try and do their lessons from 10-10:35(am) and the P-C (Paton-Churdan) and Scranton residents will be from 10:45-11:20(am). If Jefferson residents cannot make that 10:00 work then they can come at 10:45.”
The daytime swimming lessons are from July 22nd through 25th and July 29th through August 1st. There is a $15 fee for either the daytime or evening sessions. Call or stop the Greene County Community Center to register.
