PIGSThe three-day Iowa rally for the Paired Iowans Going Somewhere tandem bicycle riders begins tonight in Jefferson and wraps up in Grand Junction on Sunday.

To give visitors a special treat, the Cyclists of Greene asked the Grand Junction Lions Club to host a pancake breakfast in the city’s park on Sunday morning.

President Pierre Kellogg says they were delighted to put on the public event which includes pancakes, sausage, milk, orange juice and water.  He comments that the Lions Club will accept free will donations with all proceeds to be used to refurbish the shelter house that the organization built 50 years ago at the park.

Kellogg points out that they provide other events throughout the year such as giving scholarships to local high school graduates, supporting the leader dog program and providing sight screenings for preschool children.

The pancake breakfast is at the Grand Junction city park from 7:30-10:30am on Sunday morning and Kellogg adds, he hopes everyone can come out and enjoy a meal and visit with the PIGS group.
