Just after 8pm on Friday night, Adel police responded to a possible enticement call at Fareway at 804 Nile Kinnick Drive in Adel.

Police Chief Jim McNeill says a 12 year-old boy was selling local booster club cards outside of the local Fareway when a male subject allegedly tried to entice the minor into his vehicle.

After the boy told police about the incident, Chief McNeill states that officers located the adult male suspect.

Names involved in the investigation have not been released.

Chief McNeill notes that the investigation is ongoing but all parties have been identified and are cooperating with the investigation.  He wants the public to know that the boy was not abducted and that no one is in danger.
