Guthrie County 4-Hers have a couple more activities to participate in before they gear up for the big county fair.

From 1 to 5 pm on Monday afternoon, six 4-H clubs will help clean the county fairgrounds before the festivities officially begin on Thursday.

The Sky Eagles, Dodge Dodgers, Penn Powercats, U.S. Sunbeams, Shooting Sports and Highland Hustlers will be counted upon to participate in the pre-fair clean up.  All other Guthrie County Clubs will be part of the post-fair clean up.  

Also on Monday, there is a 4-H horse workshop at the fairgrounds that starts at 2 in the afternoon.  4-H Youth Coordinator Mollie Clark says the workshop is an ideal way for kids to get their horses acclimated to meeting new people and adjusted to new surroundings before the fair begins.

Clark and the rest of the Guthrie County Extension & Outreach Office will move to the fairgrounds for the duration of the fair, with gates opening at 8 o’clock on Thursday morning.
