For those wanting a different way to workout, the Greene County Community Center is offering free Zumba classes for one week starting Monday.

Jefferson Parks and Recreation Director Vicky Lautner says the free classes will be held at the rec center each day of the week and it’s a chance for those who haven’t experienced the dance-style workouts, to give it a try.

She explains something new that the instructors will be incorporating into the programs this year.

“The Zumba girls have taken a toning class so they’re toning certified.  So they’re going to be putting some toning along in with their routines that they do.  But it’s dance routines and they have a lot of fun and they’re really exercising, they come out just sweating like crazy.”

Regular Zumba classes begin on Monday, September 2nd.  Call or stop by the community center in Jeferson for more information.
