ADMDespite a brief interruption in the schedule due  to inclement weather last Thursday night, Coach Mary Beth Scott says her ADM volleyball team will be ready for its big week ahead.

The Tigers have two conference matches this week, including one tomorrow night at home against Ballard.  Then on Saturday, Scott and her players take a long road trip east, where they will play in the Dubuque Hempstead Invitational.

ADM sits at 12-8 on the season, and more importantly 2-0 in conference play.  Scott says now that her team is finally fully healthy, she is expecting big things the rest of the season.

“I feel like we have a lineup that is kind of (more) what we worked on through the summer, through camps and things like that.  We’re really looking forward to getting into a rhythm and getting into a routine.”

Scott says she is proud of how her team battled during the season’s trying first few weeks, when lineups were constantly being changed and players were fighting injuries.  And now that conference play is in full swing, Scott says her team has gone to another level.

“They’re pretty scrappy, and if you give them a goal or you start to talk about ‘hey, this is conference, you’ve gotta get this match,’ they can really buckle down and pull some things out, which is nice.  I always like to say that we’re a tenacious team.  They’ll just keep coming after you, and they’ll just keep working harder.  We may slide down the hill a little but, but they’re gonna crawl right back up and that’s what I love about this team–they’re fighters.”
