GCHS HOMECOMINGGreene County High School’s homecoming festivities started on Monday and so far, the students have shown to be responsible young people and living up to the standard from Principal Brian Phillips which is to have fun but have some class to.

Homecoming usually kicks off with students “teepeeing” houses, which Principal Phillips says started on Saturday.  He states that about 95% of the students behave appropriately, but there’s always a few that tend to spoil it for everyone.

At the powder puff football game on Monday, principal Phillips had to address the expectations for students during homecoming week again.

“Coach (Dustin) Lansman helped me out quite a bit with some of the football players that weren’t making some good decisions (and) I had some conversations with kids so last night (Monday night), it seemed to have went pretty good as far as kids teepeeing and that’s all they did.  So things have gone really well for the most part.  It seems like every year there’s a few blips though that teenagers are teenagers and sometimes they make some poor decisions and hopefully we can recover and make that we don’t have to take away anything.”

He comments that homecoming is all about the students and their experiences and he wants them to have a positive one which he believes they will because students are taking more pride in themselves and the school.
