Greene County lost in four sets to Class 3A number six Nevada in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference volleyball in Nevada on Tuesday night. Scores were 12-25, 26-24, 9-25, 22-25. The fourth set was tied 21-21 before the Cubs scored three of the final four points to win.

The Rams are 4-2 in the conference and 9-7 overall. Coach Donna Carhill’s team is 25-22 in sets. Nevada is 6-0 in Heart of Iowa play and is close to wrapping up the conference title.

Coach Carhill said winning a set and playing very close in another was promising. “Hopefully, we can continue to build on this and go into the last part of our regular season strong.”

Greene County is off until playing at Gilbert on Oct. 8.
