The three minors who are accused of arson felonies for the two fires in Jefferson on October 21st along with a list of other charges will be in juvenile court next month.
17 year-old Kevin Montoya is facing two Class C Felony counts for second degree arson while 15 year-olds Andrew Montoya and Parker Seehusen are each charged with one Class C Felony count for second degree arson and one count of aiding and abetting for arson.
Each are also charged with third degree Class C Felonies for burglary and third degree aggravated misdemeanors for burglary of the fires to both a school bus and a storage structure in Jefferson on October 21st. The trio face several other charges from other incidents in October.
The Greene County Clerk of Court’s Office reports that an adjudicatory hearing has been set for the three juveniles for November 8th at the courthouse. County attorney Nick Martino will be the prosecutor and the public defender’s office will represent the accused.
Because all three suspects are minors, the case is not referred to as a criminal trial but an adjudicatory trial to determine each one’s guilt or innocence. If convicted, then they would face a dispositional hearing to receive punishment.
Currently, they are being held in a temporary juvenile detention center in Fort Dodge.
