jefferson welcomeThe Jefferson City Council will meet tonight.

The Council will consider a resolution to authorize submitting a five-year capital improvement plan for the Jefferson Municipal Airport and a resolution to submit an annual Tax Increment Funds Report to the State of Iowa.

There is also a resolution for the Council to consider vacating and selling of the alleyway north of the intersection of McKinley and Locust streets and setting a public hearing.

The Council is also expected to approve paying Brett Madsen for work done to winterize the city-owned golf course and there will be a first reading to amend a city ordinance to increase the amount of fines for parking violations.

Two new volunteers to the Jefferson Fire Department are expected to be appointed at tonight’s meeting.

The Council will also hear a report from Jefferson Matters: Main Street, Trees Forever and a presentation by Steve Joe Cuddy to operate the golf course for 2014.

Plus, there will be committee and department reports.

The meeting is at 5:30pm in the City Hall Council Chambers.
