It was a tale of two games last night for the ADM Tigers in their girls/boys varsity doubleheader against Carroll.
The ADM girls romped Carroll by a score of 84-8. The Tigers led 30-3 after the first quarter and never looked back, as their impressive “3-Mayhem-2” full-court defense continually caused problems for Carroll’s youthful roster.
Coach Brett Watson’s girls also put their balanced scoring capabilities on display throughout the contest, especially in the first half when Kendra Chapman and the Bertman sisters all scored in double-figures.
After leading 58-5 at halftime, the running clock went into effect for the duration of the game, and seemingly put the ADM boys out of their rhythm due to the early start.
The ADM girls moved to 3-2 on the season with the win. They will next play Ballard at home this coming Friday.
Aaron Mager’s boys club really struggled out of the gates against a talented Carroll squad led by all-conference performers Addison Ross, Eli Cleveland and Cody Netusil.
ADM could muster only 11 points in the first half, and ultimately couldn’t slow down Carroll’s high-scoring trio, which finished with 46 points combined in the contest.
The Tigers got to within 11 points of Carroll two times during the third quarter after forcing a couple of turnovers, but that was as close as they’d get the rest of the way.
Carroll came out firing to begin the fourth quarter and rolled to 70-48 win.
The ADM boys need to put last night’s loss out of their minds quickly, as the Tigers turn right around for a matchup with Creston inside Wells Fargo Arena this evening.
Pregame coverage of tonight’s game will begin at 4:45 on K107.
