basketball thru hoopIn the first match-up this season between the ADM Tigers and Perry Jayettes, ADM trailed by just one point at halftime–22 to 21 the score.

But after intermission, it was all Perry as the Jayettes rode 26 points from star Claire Marburger to an easy 20-point win.  Coach Brett Watson says containing the Perry star is a must-do for his Tigers tonight if they’re going to pull off the home upset.

“We might try more zone, I mean we’ve got to try everything we can to slow her down.  Along with that, we can’t get too caught up with her because they do have some other good complementary players.  So, we’re going to try everything and hopefully one or two things works against her.”

Coming off a tough 52-39 loss at Ballard, Coach Watson says getting stops at crucial times is the key to a bounce back win this evening for ADM.

“When you can get stops–shut down an offense, make it difficult for them–then good things happen.  In order to get those stops, we need all five girls on the same page defensively–talking, communicating.  And then we need to finish off every possession with a rebound.  We cannot give them second, third, fourth opportunities.”

Weather permitting, coverage of tonight’s ADM vs. Perry varsity doubleheader begins as usual at 5:45 on K107.
