The Jefferson Public Library encourages all area adults to join them for the adult winter reading program.
Library Director Jane Millard says the theme is “Reading Cats ‘n’ Dogs” with all books and activities associated with pets and other characteristics of cats and dogs. She points out that the library has several fiction and non-fiction books in the library relating to the theme which is why it was chosen to be the topic for this year’s adult reading program.
It has been going on since January 8th and ends March 8th, but Millard invites anyone to join in at anytime. She states that participants work on a list of books to read, complete activity packets and meet once a month to talk about their progress and the types of books they are reading.
Millard talks about the kinds of prizes that are awarded at the end of the program.
“There’s a prize for the person who reads the most books and there is a prize drawing for those who finish the other activities that are associated with the reading program. And then there is a grand prize and that’s always a prize drawing.”
She adds that a final party will be held on Saturday, March 22nd at the library for all adult participants.
