droughtIt has been a dry week in the Raccoon River Valley and drought conditions remain unchanged across the area.

All three of our local weather reporting areas typically see around two inches of precipitation during the month of March and while Jefferson has already surpassed their normal snowfall total and Perry is close, total precipitation levels are low so far.

Jefferson has received 0.67 inch of precipitation over these first two weeks of the month.  A total of 0.28 inch has fallen in Perry so far and halfway through the month of March, Guthrie Center is reporting just 0.06 inch of precipitation.

Drought conditions continue to range from abnormally dry to severe drought in our local coverage area.
