isu-extensionThe Dallas County Conservation Board and Iowa State University Extension and Outreach are coming together to offer a food preservation class this weekend.

The event takes place Sunday at the 1:30pm.  Museum Curator Pete Malmberg says it’s a great event for families that will teach attendees how to dry, freeze and can foods.

It’s led by Mary Krisc, who is a nutritionist for the Extension office and has many years of experience working with various offices.

Though no actual food preparation or preservation will be done in class, participants will be able to take home recipes to complete the food preservation instructions.

The cost to attend is $5 and registration is required.  It takes place Sunday afternoon at the Forest Park Museum.  To reserve or your spot call 957-5787.
