Greene County RamsThe second annual Greene County High School Parent Academy will be in Jefferson next week.

Greene County High School Safe and Supportive Schools Grant Coordinator Emily Gannon says there will be three topics for parents to find out more information relating to youth including substance abuse in the community, bullying in schools and what risky behaviors youth could be experiencing.

This program originated with New Opportunities and this year, the school district received funds from  Communities 4 Children and Community Partnership for Protecting Children neighborhood/community Network Mini Grant.

Gannon points out that there will be information about other resources for parents available during the sessions that will be held on Monday, April 28th at 5:30-5:55, 6-6:25 and 6:30-6:55pm at the high school.  She notes that they will be having these sessions during parent-teachers conferences from 4-8pm.

There will be free healthy snacks and door prizes as well.  Everyone is encouraged to select two topics to attend.

Everyone is invited to the free event on Monday night.
