The Drake Relays started Wednesday at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, but today is the first day of competition for high school qualifiers. The girls’ high jump at 3 p.m. has in the field of 24 competitors Dani McCorkel of Adair-Casey and Addie Herman of Earlham. At 3:30 p.m., the two Perry High School qualifiers will be competing in the boys’ long jump field of 24. In the Perry duo are Ben Daniels and Will Whiton. Daniels has been hampered by a hamstring problem and did not compete at Monday’s Ram Relays hosted by Greene County in Jefferson.

In addition to the two events today, 16 other events from the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area will be in action at Drake either Friday or Saturday.
