ADMThe ADM/Van Meter girls soccer team is 7-0 on the season and ranked 11th in the latest Class 2-A rankings from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.

Tonight though, will be the Tigers’ toughest test to date, as they take on the arch-rival Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs at home.  With their unbeaten record on the line this evening, Tigers’ head coach Kelsey Dolder says her squad is hungry to get another win.

“After our games this (past) weekend, one of our captains and senior was quick to say, ‘we can’t be satisfied yet’, and so that was really great to hear.  I don’t think I really have to motivate them too much for this game against DC-G, that is a very big rival and the girls are really excited and pumped up to play.”

While weather conditions haven’t been ideal this week, Coach Dolder says her team will be able to handle the elements in what she calls “a game (we) need to win.”

“It’s gonna be a battle… I’m not quite sure what the weather is going to do so we’ve been outside all week practicing in this constant drizzle and chilly weather just to get the girls used to it.  It’s going to be a very tough game, and it’s going to be (about) who can dig their heels in and put on in the back of the net first.”

The Tigers and Mustangs’ varsity squads will hit the pitch at 7pm this evening.  While just 4-3 on the season, DC-G is ranked 10th in Class 2-A
