June is off to a pretty wet start here in the Raccoon River Valley area.
According to the National Weather Service, Perry received 1.86 inches of rain this week. Guthrie Center received 1.61 inches and Jefferson had 1.36 inches since June 1st.
Normal monthly rainfall totals for the local area range between 4.99 and 5.16 inches in June.
There’s no major change in the latest drought monitor from the National Climatic Data Center though, as conditions continue to range from normal or moderate drought in Dallas, Greene and Guthrie Counties.
