Greene County hosts Nevada tonight In Jefferson in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference softball and baseball. The varsity softball game can be heard  on KG98 with coverage starting around 7:15 p.m.

The softball Rams are 22-6 overall and 13-2 in conference play as they begin the final week of the regular season. PCM (Monroe) and Greene County would tie for the title if both win their remaining conference contests. The Rams play in Alleman vs. North Polk on Wednesday and they return to Jefferson on Thursday to finish the conference and regular seasons vs. Gilbert. All three opponents are in the lower half of the HOIAC, but the Rams won very close games against against this trio the first time around.

The baseball Rams are 6-8 in the conference and they lost a tough one the first time they played Nevada. The Cubs were 6-5 winners in Story County by scoring three times in the bottom of the seventh inning. Coach Mark Sawhill’s Rams have victories in their last three HOIAC games.
