Playing for the first time in six nights, the ADM baseball team scratched out a close 6-5 win over Gilbert at home last night.
With the win the Tigers are now 15-8 on the season. They’ll next travel to Council Bluffs Lewis Central tomorrow.
In last night’s non-conference win, ADM looked disciplined and dialed-in at the plate, especially in the bottom of the fourth inning when the Tigers put up a game-deciding five spot. In that frame, ADM got two-out RBI hits from Grant Goeden, Logan Essy and Robby Sloss to really bust the game open.
On the night, Goeden went 3-for-4 at the plate, drove in a run and score one himself.
Kody Irwin had himself a nice evening as well, going 1-for-1 with a homerun and two runs scored. Irwin’s blast in the second inning was the Tigers’ first homer as a club this season.
Joe Sloss got the win for ADM, as he threw four innings and allowed three runs, only one of which was earned. Logan Lemke finished off the ballgame throwing the final three innings, allowing just two unearned runs to help the Tigers seal up the victory.
