ADMIt wasn’t the prettiest win Tuesday for the ADM softball team, but after getting off to a slow start, the Tigers did end up rolling to an easy win over West Central Valley in their playoff opener.

Next up for ADM is a date with the Atlantic Trojans tomorrow night in their regional semifinal, and while Atlantic is a team with a below .500 record, head coach Rick Dillinger says his girls need to be ready for a club that can really hit the softball.

“Their leadoff (hitter) is very quick, right-handed and puts the ball in play very well so we’re going to have to keep her off base at the beginning (of the game) and in the later innings.  They’re not very big girls as far as stature but they look like they can swing the bats pretty well so we’re going to have to pitch well, hit spots well and play defense.”

Playing better defense is something Coach Dillinger says is of great importance tomorrow.  The Tigers did commit three infield errors in their win Tuesday, just a night after they put on a stellar defensive display in their regular season finale win over Ballard.

Expect Atlantic to at least put the bat on the ball against ADM ace Molly Jacobsen tomorrow night, as they’re a club hitting better than .330 as a team.

We’ll see if the Tigers are up to the defensive task at hand starting at 7pm on K107 and the Raccoon Valley Radio Network.
