The next Thursday Therapy Supper is tomorrow night at the new community building on the Guthrie County fairgrounds in Guthrie Center.

The Guthrie County Fair Board has been hosting a monthly Thursday night supper since this past April and are continuing to raise funds to help complete the interior work on the new community building.

Volunteer member Jolene Sheeder says they’ve raised $19,678.62 from their suppers and through the brick donors and a $10,000 grant, Sheeder adds that they’ve been able to install all the electrical needs, the first of two separate ceilings, run wiring for internet and purchase all the drywall needed for the walls.

Now they have to finish building the kitchen, install an HVAC system, put in the second ceiling and walls and install LED lights.

Sheeder notes that at the last two suppers that were put on by the Fair Board, they served over 300 people.

This Thursday’s Therapy Supper will be from 5:30-8pm with a menu to include marinated chicken breasts sandwich, salad and a beverage for $8 for adults and $5 for children ages ten and under.  There will also be a  $3 dessert bar that includes an ice cream sundae bar.

The next two suppers have been scheduled for October 16th and November 20th.
