More multi-family housing could be coming to Perry.  A development company is looking to build a new structure on Willis Avenue.

The Perry City Council approved a re-zoning request in order to help with the proposed plans at their most recent meeting.  City Administrator Butch Niebuhr explains.

“It’s a company looking at building a forty-plex in that vacant lot, and this is right across the street from 908 Willis, the police and fire station, right across the street to the south.  So they’ll go forward with that application which has to be in (this) week sometime, so we’ll see what happens there.”

Bear Development representatives at the Council meeting said getting approved for the tax credits needed for the project is a competitive process and they feel their odds of being successful are about 50/50.
