What do you get as a gift for the person who has everything? Anything but a pet, says Linda Shelley of Panora P.E.T.S, who says never to give pets as gifts, not even to relatives, “going out and buying, say, Aunt Martha, a cat when Aunt Martha may not have the means to take care of a cat, physically, emotionally, financially, or really event want a cat; you just thought it was a good idea. It’s really not a good idea.”
Shelley says the only exception should be buying a household family pet.
